Half the Year Is Gone – What’s Next for Your Biz?

July-8-PostYup – it’s that time again. We’re halfway through the year – where has the time gone?

Now is the time to take stock of what’s happened in your business over the past six months and see how well you’re doing with regard to the goals and intentions that you’ve set thus far.

This short exercise will help you to look at things with “fresh eyes” and make plans to rise, reclaim, and / or refine things in your business in the second half of 2015 as appropriate for your unique situation.

To this end, I have ten questions to ask you (write your answers down) and some resources to share.

Here are the questions:

1) What was the most important business goal that you set in January 2015?

2) Have you achieved that goal?

3) If the goal changed between January and now, what is your current most important business goal?

4) Have you achieved it?

5) If you have not achieved your most important goal, have you achieved any other business goals? (It’s important to acknowledge yourself for what you’ve already done!)

6) If you achieved any of your goals (congratulations if you did!), what did you do to celebrate?

7) If you have not achieved your most important goal this year (regardless of when you set it), why haven’t you?

8) What is your new target date for achieving it?

9) Whose help do you need to achieve this goal?

10) What can you do in the next 24 hours to move toward this goal?

You’ll get clarity when you respond to these questions and you’ll be able to either extend your current roadmap for your business or be inspired to create a new one!

Now for the resources – these are going to be very helpful for your business!

A few days ago, Lee (a member of the MPE community) wrote to me about her desire to choose/create a seamless “tech” system.  I responded by telling her that while I’m not sure that such a thing exists, I’d do some research on this.  True to my word, I’ve come up with a few suggestions that you all may find useful!

On Facebook:

Tech Connect:

“This group is a think tank. Our focus is on technologies to support online businesses. In that spirit – there’s no question that’s too big or too small to ask. We’ll answer any questions you have. We’ll also research and brainstorm solutions to problems – especially if you come up with something really creative to ask.”

Simplified Solutions:

A group for smart business owners who want to support each other in streamlining their businesses with systems + tools for an incredible entrepreneurial experience.

I recently joined both of these groups and find the people running them to be generous with their expertise.  Both groups are closed, so you will need to request to join them.  Just click on the “Join Group” button on the banner photo at the top of the page and wait for your notification of acceptance.

Online resource list:

Duct Tape Marketing Resource Directory:

Run by John Jantz, Duct Tape Marketing’s tag line is “Simple, effective and affordable small business marketing.”  The directory covers every major element of marketing that can make a difference in your business.

So there you have it! I would love to hear how you are doing mid-year – what you’ve accomplished and what you need to make a plan to accomplish. Please comment below and share your story!
